Unique UNDESCRIBED palaeoniscoid "Humpback" fish Pennsylvanian Carboniferous New Mexico

Ultra rare undescribed and large palaeoniscoid fish from the late Pennsylvanian Atrasado Formation, Bernalillo County, New Mexico.

Very distinctive “hump” behind the head!

Numerous fossil bivalves of the genus Dunbarella as well as plant fossils are distributed all over the rock around the fish!

Matrix measures about 14.5” x 13.5”, fish is about 8.4” long.

Slab has been professionally stabilized with fiberglass/resin in the back.
